This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating procurement coordinator’s work processes for multiple sourcing categories and locations, including management of executing procurement transaction processes and managing procurement records, providing location procurement support and planning, managing supplier events and relationships, and implementing sourcing strategies. This position is responsible for a team of 10 to 15 procurement coordinators.
Applies his/her understanding of local practices and procedures to manage, organize and coordinate processes for procurement of materials/goods, services and supplies.
Plan, schedule and coordinate local stakeholder meetings on procurement topics and facilitate decisions.
Notify internal stakeholders and facilitate implementation of decisions.
Draft procurement process documents that require minimum interpretation for review
Might be accountable for process planning, implementation, execution and improvement of sub-set of more complex processes utilizing general process knowledge to provide first-level supervision for operations activities of a dedicated team.
Act as a super-user, troubleshooting and training others on procurement/inventory management system functionality, providing education, training and support to system users.
Sets and communicates priorities for the team
Responsible for aligning overall team resources to execute against short term and longer-term strategies and meeting strategic sourcing and location/plant/Business objectives.
Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning, training and engagement for team.
Accountable for setting and managing the budget for the team
Under general supervision, facilitates the implementation of administrative activities in alignment with strategic sourcing strategies and policies across the sourcing lifecycle
Assist more senior team members on maintaining on-going tracking mechanisms for basic performance metrics, reporting on value captured at the local level.
Work with applicable plant/location staff to research and resolve routine supplier issues; escalate more significant issues to higher level procurement staff and/or Strategic Sourcing organization as appropriate.
Negotiating basic contract terms and conditions
Under general supervision, facilitate the implementation of administrative activities in alignment with strategic sourcing strategies and policies across the sourcing lifecycle
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or other business related field
Minimum 2 years professional experience
Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
Experience with Maximo, SAP, or other relevant ERP Systems
Proficiency in computer skills including Windows (Excel , Outlook ,PowerPoint)
Intermediate 10 Key data entry skills
Must be detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong administrative, internet search and filing skills
Effective inter-personal skills in dealing with all levels and departments within the company
Customer service skills and orientation
Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing
Basic understanding of procurement requirements and standards
Process optimization and management of work
