Join us as Guest Service Manager at InterContinental Sofia located in the city center of Bulgaria's capital. You will have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills to be at the forefront of our friendly and professional Reception team. Your key focus within this role will be to manage all aspects at the Reception Desk (for example guest registration, business centre, telephone services, and guest reservations) to deliver a guest experience that is unique and brings the brand to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operations at the hotel reception desk and manages the tasks and responsibilities of the reception team.

  • Reports directly into and communicates with the Front Office Manager on all matters pertaining to the reception operations.

  • Ensures staff is properly trained on systems, security and cash handling procedures, and service and quality standards.

  • Ensures reception staff provides guests with prompt service, professional attention and personal recognition.

  • Ensures guests are greeted upon arrival and makes time to interact effectively with guests. Responds appropriately to guest complaints, solicits feedback and builds relationships to drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.

  • Communicates and works collaboratively with all other hotel departments to ensure well-rounded guest experiences.

  • Serves as a central communications point during emergency/crisis situations.

  • Ensures staff are trained on upselling techniques both for Rooms and all other hotel facilities in order to contribute to the maximisation of the hotel's revenue.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a Supervisory role at Reception desk / within the Front Office department.

Skills:

  • Speaks and writes fluently in Bulgarian and English

  • Another language will be a preference

  • Good communication skills

  • Stress resistant

  • Hospitable

  • Service minded

  • Eye for details

A valid work permit for a European country is required.
