VMware Senior Business Analyst, Business Intelligence & Reporting in Sofia, Bulgaria

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for working with key business customers in Finance and Sales as well as with IT teams to deliver Business Intelligence solutions to support VMware’s growing business with optimized systems/processes.
The role will be responsible for supporting Global teams working with colleagues and stakeholders who are spread across different GEO’s such as Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. The position requires the Senior Business Analyst must be a self-starter with strong leadership, project / program management, software (database/programming), analytical, and training skills who is comfortable working with distributed teams, at all levels of the organization without direct management oversight.
Responsibilities & Scope:
Create a plan to implement the BI team’s strategy to effectively drive and improve the self-service model in the business
Conduct adoption activities including audience driven trainings, roadshows, and power user focused activities to drive increased expertise
Influence transformation strategy improvements with business executives based on strategic goals, requirements, and BI maturity evaluations
Provide guidance and expertise and visualization and story-telling with data best practices
Prototype reports and dashboards to get users engaged and excited about BI solutions
Create in-depth business requirements across a variety of business functions, such as Sales, Professional Services, Global Support, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Legal for larger, company driven projects
Direct stakeholder engagement with business teams and management of stakeholder relationships
Perform data analysis – identifying trends and key drivers of metrics
Develop expertise on business processes, life-cycles, and data drivers
Conduct QA activities on new solutions introduced into Production
Provide input to BI development team on requirements and enhancements to existing data sets and reporting technologies
Collaborate on the definition of KPIs and metrics to monitor and run the business
Lead reporting projects, taking ownership of successful completion for end to end lifecycle
Support communication, training, and documentation to enable successful user adoption
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in Business Analysis, Requirements Development, and Solutions Implementation of Business Intelligence Solutions
Technical knowledge and experience in SQL and working with the industry leading BI tools such as OBIEE, Tableau, and Business Objects
Proficient MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
Understanding of the primary business functions in a Software organization, such as Sales, Professional Services, Renewals, Customer Advocacy, Global Support, Finance, HR, and Legal. Implementation of Business Intelligence solutions for these areas.
ERP experience with tools such as Oracle ERP or SAP.
Clear, professional, and concise communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills. Must have combination of excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) and Technical skills
Must be able to use consultative approach and persuasive communication with stakeholders
Ability to take initiative and to set priorities independently
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to think strategically
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preference for Computer Science or Business Administration
