Sandvik Company seeks a suitable applicant for the position of

General Accounting Analyst

As a General Accounting Analyst you will provide general accounting (GA) services for the Sandvik Mining&Rock Technology (SMRT) reporting entities supported by the region center. GA processes include: General ledger accounting, Fixed asset accounting, Intercompany accounting and Financial reporting. This will be a rotational role across the different GA processes and across different business assignments.

Key responsibilities:

Operational excellence:

  • Provide General Accounting services to an assigned business responsibility, ensuring completeness and accuracy of ledgers and reports;

  • Use accounting expertise to identify and communicate issues;

  • Learn and apply SMRT internal control policies and procedures, identify areas of potential non-compliance and communicate timely;

  • Provide process and system expertise to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness;

  • Interact with finance personnel around the region to resolve issues;

  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the GA function, including process standardization based on leading practices, technology changes and organization improvements;

  • Support IT deployments or enhancements by defining requirements or guiding design decisions;

  • Work with peers in other region centers to identify leading practices and common solution to operational challenges.

Business partnership:

  • Stakeholder management: Develop effective working relationships with SMRT employees who rely on the GA services;

  • Business partnership: Collaborate on ideas and set balanced priorities, supported by realistic expectations and clear responsibilities;

  • Conflict management: Resolve issues and conflicts using leadership and conflict management skills, resulting in positive outcomes;

  • Business compliance: Drive compliance with process responsibilities required for effective, controlled and efficient end-to-end processes.

Your profile:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or similar (Master is a plus);

Certified Public Accountant or similar is a plus;

1- 5 years of work experience;

Experience working in a shared services environment;

Experience with general accounting applications such as Blackline or Trintech;

Lean Accounting or Green Belt 6-Sigma certification is also a plus;

Leadership certificates are a plus;

Continuous improvement;

Global multi-line business;

Multiple-ERP and finance applications;

Travel flexibility up to 25% of the time.

  • Exposure to a global or regional shared services environment;

  • Creative problem solving;

  • Effective communication abilities and strong English skills (verbal and written). Additional languages are a plus;

  • Solid service oriented attitude;

  • Shared services operating model experience;

  • Finance processes knowledge;

  • Strong interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to structure and manage deadlines effectively;

  • Strong time management skills;

  • Highly adaptable and able to drive results even when faced with ambiguity;

  • Comfortable working in a changing environment;

  • Accounting skills (e.g. GAAP, IFRS) in a multinational environment.
